A company called the Laundry Alternative designed a hand crank 5lb washing machine called the Wonderwash. All the machine needs is a little bit of water and laundry detergent, and it can clean your clothes anywhere.
Mashable.com considered this device one of three that would change your life. That might be true if you are use to laundry mats and don’t mind a little arm exercise.
This is definitely an ideal machine for those that live in dorms and apartments, since the cost of the laundry mat can add up. This is also a cool device for individuals who camp a lot or who take extended vacations.
Since this washing machine in hand cranked, it uses no electricity. It also uses less water than a regular washing machine and less water than if one were to hand wash the garments.
Realistically, this cool washing machine will not replace automatic washing machines and dryers. For most households, there is just too much laundry to do and too little time to do it. For less than $45, however, it is a cool devise to have around in case of a long-term power outage or for the occasional family trip.
